You wouldn't think it now but this room presented challenges when designing. Our client desired an island to cook at, taking advantage of the light from these beautiful windows.

We just love the dining area of the eclectic kitchen from our previous post. There is something about this mix of old and new that creates such warmth; the vintage chairs contrasting against the modern #microcement wall covering or the #ochre armchairs against the grey wall colour, to us the balance is perfect โ๏ธ.
This kitchen is loaded with character; with four children and two dogs, the Client was looking for something with lots of personality and resilience.
These beautiful windows were the starting point for the design of this individual #bluekitchen, the island design gives room for the windows to be admired.

This image is the view through to the living room from our previous #kitcheninstallation showing the custom utility cabinet on the right hand side and discreet under stair storage on the left.
This #modernkitchen is deceiving as it is the focus of #openplanliving in a traditional #mewscottage in #northwestlondon . Completely renovated, the contemporary staircase splits the ground floor, with lounge area to one side and #kitchendiner on the other.
This close up shows the attention to detail within our project. The the plain white @silestonebycosentino composite quartz worksurface creates a perfect backdrop for the stunning walnut veneer and titanium metallic lacquer furniture.
Lovely feedback from our client, Janine, we loved working on this #luxuriouskitchen together for their #chiswick #victorianhouse extension.
During the design process we tried out different options for the main back wall; some symmetric and some asymmetric. We finalised the symmetrical design as it sat so well within this unique space, and also maximised storage. The reduced depth units mean the kitchen sits gently between the architectural features and also provide handy larder storage.
We relocated the kitchen from another part of the property - who wouldnโt want to look out on that view whilst cooking?!

We worked together to hone their ideas, making the fridge integrated and adding a pocket door cabinet. The lacquer colour โAmblesideโ by @littlegreenepaintcompany works perfectly to bring in the garden through the huge glazed doors.

Designed for art collectors, we purposefully left space above the tall cabinets and had only a shelf above the sink, to allow for artwork to be displayed and keep the feeling of space within the room.
The kitchen leads onto an open plan dining and living plan area, so to keep the furniture looking as sleek as possible we hid the ovens behind pocket doors and created a hidden coffee station.
The material palette of grey stained Oak veneer and stainless steel metallic lacquer bring interest and warmth whilst still feeling modern and soft.

As the space was a little tight we tailored our process, marking out with masking tape on their floor where the island could sit, defining the island physically instead of on plan.
Wanting to bridge the gap between a modern kitchen and their property's period features, we addressed this with the material choice. The smooth lacquer door finish contrasts against the original sanded pine floor and the natural granite surfaces with a tiled splashback is a more classic approach.
As we all know, storage is key in any kitchen & the last minute addition of the reduced depth corner cabinet resulted in a highly useful pantry storage that our client loves.

We used every inch of space within this apartment to maximise storage and utilise space, fitting in a @fisherpaykel dishwasher & integrated washing machine.
The gorgeous yellow is @craigandrosepaints โJarositeโ and is hiding powder blue carcasses behind the fronts.
It is definitely brightening our mood and getting us ready for sunnier weather ๐

We spent a lot of time reviewing the storage for this design, the slimline pantry units around the windows give very accessible storage for bottles & spices, as you can see on the final image.
A modern classic hybrid; handle less, custom blue cabinetry is mixed with freestanding refrigeration, our Client's reused pan rack and unique choices of natural stone worksurface and tiles - resulting in a homely, neat installation.

As part of a considered development, we worked with our Client to ensure that the #kitchendesign was highly #functional and #storage led.
A custom, double door cabinet housing large washing machine, tumble dryer and space for mops & brooms creates an all important #utilityarea and is a real luxury in this type of property.
The kitchen is understated but packs in storage and worksurface space, a tall larder cabinet with internal drawers houses dry goods, corner mechanisms mean even the hardest to reach parts of the kitchen are practical storage.
